Cramp Bark ( viburnum opulus )
50 ml Tincture of 1:2 liquid extract
Ethanol 30%
Herbal Actions:
- Spasmolytic- Substance that reduces or relieves smooth muscle (involuntary contractions)
- Mild sedative- Substance that reduces activity ,particularly in the nervous system and decreases nervous tension
- Astringent – Substance that causes constriction of mucous membranes and exposed tissues usually by precipitating proteins (this action has the effect of producing a barrier on the mucous or exposed tissues)
- Hypotensive- Substance that reduces blood pressure
- Peripheral vasodilator – Substance that dilates or widens the peripheral blood vessels and thereby improves circulation to peripheral tissues and may assist in reducing blood pressure
Potential Indications:
Uterine pain ,dysmenorrhea ,ovarian pain
Cramps of pain both skeletal and smooth muscle -pain in thighs and back
Threatened miscarriage ,preparation for parturition
Hypertension
Spasmodic contraction of bladder ,infantile enuresis
Asthma , Angina, Palpitations
Stomach cramps

Dosage:
2 to 4.5 ml of 1:2 liquid extract daily
