Herbal actions that are Antispasmodic.

The antispasmodic herbs can prevent or ease spasms, muscular cramps, cramps, spasm and mild pain. In order to reduce spasm of the smooth muscle the key herb or remedy is Cramp bark.

Herbs that are Antispasmodic-

General use –

Black Haw, Cramp bark or those exert their influence upon specific structures. Hyssop (lungs), Cloves (mucous membranes), Wild Thyme (bronchi), Figwort (anus).

Other common use-

Asafetida, Balm, Betony, Black haw (muscles generally, also womb), Black cohosh, Blood root (externally), Cayenne Pepper, German chamomile (stomach), Dong quai (ovaries), Eucalyptus, Hops, (Stomach), Lady slipper, Liquorice , Lime flowers, Lobelia, Mistletoe, Motherwort (heart), Nutmeg (angina), Passionflower, Skullcap, Skunk cabbage, Thyme, Valerian, Vervain, Wild cherry (respiratory), Wild carrot (kidneys and bladder), Wild lettuce ,Wild yam ,Devils claw(Muscles).
